The South Africa Itinerary June 17th to 26th 2025: Penguins and Pinot: An Epic South Africa Adventure

Day 1, 17th of June - Arrive in Cape Town and make your way to our hotel to get some rest and recuperate after your long flights and prepare for the adventure ahead. We will have a group dinner in a restaurant near by, so everyone can finally meet and have a toast to the adventure ahead. Overnight in Cape town.



Day 2, 18th of June – Today is a great way to get an introduction to “the Mother City”, Cape Town. We will do a tour in the city and surrounding area. Starting off with a visit to Robben Island then Cape Town city tour visiting Bo-Kaap; Signal Hill; V&A Waterfront and Table Mountain. A big part of this tour is walking around the city with our guide getting to know the city, its different cultures, history and geography. A highlight of the day is riding to the top of the famous Table Mountain in a cable car, for magnificent views over Table Bay, Robben Island, The Cape Peninsula and Lions Head. Day 3, 19th of June – Today after breakfast, is a full day visiting Cape Point, then Boulders Beach, Cape of Good Hope, Hout Bay, Clifton, Camps Bay. Boulders Beach is a sheltered beach made up of inlets between granite boulders and crystal-clear waters. The area is home to one of the largest breeding colonies of African penguins. We can observe the penguins close up from elevated boardwalks. You won’t believe the beautiful scenery you will experience in one day on the Cape Peninsula. The Cape of Good Hope, is the furthest southwestern point in Africa. We will have time for hiking to the Cape Point lighthouse if you like. We will then take the coastal road to the Hout Bay harbour to take in the beautiful harbour scenes. On our way back we will take the scenic route back to Cape Town via the Atlantic seaside suburbs of Clifton and Camps Bay and see the Twelve Apostles. Overnight in Cape town Meal plan: (Breakfast )


Day 4, 20th of June – Today is wine day doing the Wine Tram hop-on hop-off tour. Something I’m sure you are all excited about The Western Cape of South Africa is home to more than 500 wineries, and today we will visit a few of our favourites in the Franschhoek Valley on board the famous wine tram. The tram is such a fun way to travel to the vineyards. Afterwards we will return to Cape town when we have had enough wine of course. Overnight in Cape town Meal plan: (Breakfast)




Day 5, 21st of June – After breakfast, we will begin our journey along the famous Garden Route. Our first stop of the day will be to Mossel Bay and then in the afternoon we will enjoy a 3 hour game drive at Botlierskop Private Game Reserve, the reserve offers a real Garden Route safari experience where we will enjoy close encounters with Rhinoceros, Lions, Elephants, Buffalo, Giraffe, the rare Black Impala, Golden Wildebeest, Mountain Zebra, Hippos and many more. The game reserve is 4200ha and comprises of over 26 different species of animals and over 200 resident bird species. Overnight stay in Knysna. Meal plan: (Breakfast)



Day 6, 22nd of June –After breakfast we will have some free time to explore the area ourselves then in the afternoon, we will depart on a guided township experience through Emzini Township with local guides. Then to end the day we will embark on a sunset boat cruise on the Knysna Lagoon for the ultimate sundowner experience. Overnight stay in Knysna. Anyone who is interested in the parachute jump this morning (weather dependent) will be your opportunity (Optional extras - 10,000 feet tandem skydive) Meal plan: (Breakfast)




Day 7, 23rd of June – After breakfast, we will travel to Wilderness on the Garden Route. We will explore Wilderness National Park with some canoes. Enjoy a paddle up the Touw River through indigenous forest, enjoying the abundance of bird life. After about 40 minutes, the canoes will be left for a 2 km hike along a boardwalk, which will take us to a lovely waterfall and rock pools. We will then enjoy an afternoon at leisure in Sedgefield/Knysna. Overnight stay in Knysna. Meal plan: (Breakfast)



Day 8, 24th of June –After breakfast, it’s off to Tsitsikamma National Park. On route we will stop at Bloukrans Bridge to view the world’s highest bungee jump bridge (216 meters). There is plenty of time for the adventure seekers among us to test their courage and do the bungee jump. In the afternoon we make our way to Hermanus for an over night stay to break the journey up back to Cape Town. Overnight stay in Hermanus. (Optional extra 216m Bloukrans bungee jump) Meal plan: (Breakfast)



Day 9, 25th of June – After breakfast we will finish our journey back to Cape Town arriving in the afternoon and on arrival, check in and enjoy our last afternoon and dinner together with of course some time to pick up some last minute South African souvenirs. Overnight in Cape town. Meal plan: (Breakfast)



Day 10, 26th of June - All good things must come to an end. It's time to say good bye and end our Cape town adventure. There will be a group airport drop off to Cape Town airport. Meal plan: (Breakfast)

NOT included: International flights, visa for entry if required, optional extras mentioned, travel insurance, meals not listed in the itinerary, any required PCR tests, tips.

The itinerary may be subject to small changes due to any unforeseen circumstances that may arise. Sarah is leading this tour. All rooms on our trips are shared, with two people per room. We’ll match you with an adventure buddy, giving you the perfect chance to make new friends! To keep things fresh, you’ll switch roommates every couple of nights and connect with someone new.


If you are satisfied with the proposed itinerary and wish to proceed, a deposit of €500 will be necessary to confirm your reservation. Please note that this deposit is non-refundable for various reasons. By making the deposit, you are agreeing to these terms. The non-refundable nature of the deposit is essential due to the immediate planning and costs associated with securing your spot on the tour, I immediately begin the process of planning and preparing for your journey. These preparations often involve upfront costs that are incurred from the moment your booking is confirmed. In addition, by requiring a non-refundable deposit, it aims to ensure that all participants are committed to the trip. 


The balance of €1475 will be due 8 weeks before trip start date (22th of April 2025). You can make the payments in instalments after the deposit is paid if that suits you.


With regards to a refund: Your deposit is non-refundable. For the balance of your payment, I maybe able to *refund this up 8 weeks before the trip should you have an emergency and need to cancel. Anything closer than 8 weeks, and I cannot refund you. *I ask all travelers to get fully comprehensive travel insurance for this trip so, in the case of an unexpected cancellation, you will be covered! :) Because I book this trip based on a set number of travelers & invoices are paid by me 8 weeks before travel, I cannot offer full refunds within that window.
